He was predeceased by: his parents, James Benjamin and Lorene Virginia Jenkins (Louderback); and his brother-in-law Dennis Bailey. He is survived by: his wife Deanna Dowrey; his children, Shera Marie Jenkins-Pierce (Matt) of Front Royal and Jared Thomas Jenkins (Suzanne) of Elkton; his siblings, Debra Sue Bailey, Elizabeth Ann Williams (David), James Jenkins (Tina) and Charles E. Jenkins (Denise); his grandchildren, Kyler Thomas Jenkins, Everly Marie Jenkins and Aubrey Elizabeth Jenkins; and his close friend Gary Breeden. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 10th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kyger Funeral Home - Elkton (115 Nicholson Rd, Elkton, VA 22827). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Newport Christian Church (307 Newport Rd, Shenandoah, VA 22849).
