Bessie Berryman Scott Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bessie Berryman Scott in Smithfield, Virginia, born in Surry, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 4, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Berryman and Eleanor Berryman; her husband Glen Scott, Sr.; her brother-in-law Darwin Raymer; her sister Ruth Ward Berryman Raymer; and her pet Precious.
She is survived by: her children, Shari Pearce (Michael) and Glen Scott, Jr.; her sister-in-law Barbara Chapman; her nephew Hank Chapman (Pam); and her niece Barbara Petersohn. She is also survived by children and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bessie's memory to the Isle of Wight Humane Society (https://www.iowchs.org), Trinity United Methodist Church and the Smithfield Women's Club.
