She was predeceased by: her mother Gladys Marie Whitaker. She is survived by: her daughter Samantha Mitchell (David) of Suffolk, VA; her siblings, Genia Peele of Conway, NC and John Thomas Willkens (KauKauna Patterson-Willkens) of St. Louis, MO; and her daughter Shavonda Davis (Kenneth) of Suffolk, VA. She is also survived by two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hunter's Funeral Home - Gates (701 US-158, Gates, NC 27937). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
