With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Hersey G. Pierce of Smithfield, Virginia, born in Suffolk, Virginia, who passed away on August 9, 2022 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Clifton Eugene Pierce and Mary Catherine Atkins Pierce. He is survived by : his wife Jeanette Garris Pierce; his daughters, Deborah "Debi" P. Jones (David) and Paula P. Hicks (Joe); his grandchildren, Rob, Carey Harris and Christie Hicks; and his great grandchildren, Mikayla, Alya and Emma.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the local Alzheimer's or Parkinson's Foundation.
