James M. Ware Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James M. Ware (Smithfield, Virginia), who passed away on October 2, 2025 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar M. Ware and Mary Katherine Austin Ware; his sister Peggy; his brother-in-law Joseph Gnieski; his father-in-law George Siegel; and his sister-in-law Peggy Siegel.
He is survived by: his wife Terri; his sons, James "Randy" R. Ware and Matthew C. Ware; his grandchildren, Brittney Rodriquez, Coty Bradley, Kristian Ware, Myles Ware (Deanna), Hailey Ware and Charity Ware; his great grandchild Gotham Rodriquez; his brothers-in-law, Jim Siegel, Steve Siegel (Rebekah Burr) and George Siegel (Lori Swain); his mother-in-law Doris Siegel; Kristina Mudrick.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Benns United Methodist Church (14571 Benns Church Blvd, Smithfield, VA 23430). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Sunday, October 5th 2025 at the St. Luke's Memorial Park (14477 Benns Church Blvd, Smithfield, VA 23430).
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Benn's United Methodist Church (https://bennsumc.org) or the United States Merchant Marine Academy Athletic Fund.
