Janet leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Janet’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Janet will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Newett Drew Edwards and Annie Laurie Bason Edwards. She is survived by: her sister Georgianna Edwards Skinner; her nieces, Laurie Skinner and Loretta McIntosh; and her nephew Mills Bason.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 28th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Benns United Methodist Church (14571 Benns Church Blvd, Smithfield, VA 23430).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Smithfield Public Library, the Hampton Public Library, or the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad.
