He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Susan; his stepchildren, David (Stacey), Neil and Stephanie (Josh); his grandchildren, Abraham, Brady, Storm, Jett, Ella, Hailey and Jackson; his parents, Jesse Grooms Sr. and June Elizabeth Ivey Grooms; and his sister Patricia.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Baptist Church in Newport News, Va in Jesse's name.
