Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Joanne Turner Carroll of Smithfield, Virginia, who passed away at the age of 88, on April 20, 2024. She was predeceased by : her parents, Thurman Turner and Virginia Anne Wilson Turner; and her husband Raymond Wade Carroll. She is survived by : her daughters, Linda Sue Mitchell (Joey), Jo Ray Johnson (Dale), Anne Rainey (Bruce) and Margaret Babb (Barry); her grandchildren, Chuck Mitchell, Nicholas Mitchell, Emily Johnson (Sam) and Brandon Babb (Elena); her great grandchildren, Cassidy, Lillian, Easton and Dean; her sister Kaye Godwin; and her niece Sherri Thompson.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Little's Funeral Home and Cremation Service (1515 S Church St, Smithfield, VA 23430). A burial was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM at the Historic St. Lukes Church Cemetery (14477 Benns Church Blvd, Smithfield, VA 23430). A reception was held on Tuesday, April 23rd 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Smithfield Baptist Church (100 Wainwright Dr, Smithfield, VA 23430).
