It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Madeleine C. Carriere of Smithfield, Virginia, born in Central Falls, Rhode Island, who passed away on April 4, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Madeleine leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.

She was predeceased by: her husband Raymond Carriere; and her parents, Walter Kurowski and Beatrice Kurowski (Landry). She is survived by: her daughter Joy Fulkerson (Michael); her grandsons, John and Scott Fulkerson; and her sister Jeanne DeGoes.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ALS Association and Susan G. Komen in memory of Madeleine.
