He is survived by: his wife Joyce Ellis of Smithfield; his sons, Chris Ellis (Lisa) of Smithfield, Tim Ellis of Smithfield and Mike Ellis (Sue) of Surry, VA; his grandchildren, Brittany (Mike), Michael, Jr. (Jeymie), Katelyn (Spencer) and Matthew (Megan); his great grandchildren, Chloe, Avery, Hadley and Genevieve; his sister-in-law Patricia Allen; his pet Molly; and his close friend Mark Lassiter. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
