He was predeceased by: his mother Elma Weatherford Crowder; his wife Joan Andrews Crowder; his daughter Kimberly Tysinger (Darryl); his father Robert Anderson "Daddy Ray" Crowder; and his brother Louis "Dickie" Crowder.
He is survived by: his children, Charles, Crowder Jr. (Christy) and Jennifer McGregor (Mike); his son-in-law Darryl Tysinger; his grandchildren, Sara Tysinger, Samantha Nunn (Forrest), Kendall Crowder and Brett Crowder; and his siblings, Douglas "Doug" Crowder and Jane Spencer (Grady). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Powell Funeral Home (1603 Wilborn Ave, South Boston, VA 24592). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church (10159 Mountain Rd, Vernon Hill, VA 24597).
