He was predeceased by: his parents, Lewis T. Lowery and Henrietta Belle Conner Lowery; and his siblings, Beulah Mae Owen, Mary Magdaline Lowery and Lloyd Thomas Lowery.
He is survived by: his wife Josephine "Jo" Martin Lowery; his former wife Jane Sheppard; his son Sam Lowery (Sandra); his grandchildren, Lydia Lowery and Dylan Lowery; his siblings, Bernice "Bun" Lowery, Ernest "Hooks" Lowery (Nancy), Fred Lowery (Brenda) and Faye Conner (Steve); his stepdaughter Kelly Wilson Wilborn (Tony); his stepgrandchildren, Brooke W. Talley, Blake C. Wilson, Chris Wilborn and Lesley Jaimes (Brian); and his stepgreat-grandchildren, Carter, Bridget, Oliver, Jax, Harley and Elijah.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Brooks Lyon Funeral Home (115 Main St, South Boston, VA 24592). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to Grace Baptist Church, 1058 Buckshoal Road, Virgilina, VA 24598 in Dewey's memory.
