He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Batts Bowman and Lester Inglis Bowman; and his son Matthew Todd Bowman. He is survived by: his wife Meredith Howerton Bowman; his sister Anne Erickson (Chuck) of Vero Beach; his granddaughter Brooke Boone (Mason) of Raleigh, N. C.; his aunt Emily Batts of Whispering Pines, N. C.; his daughter-in-law Danielle Bowman of Virginia Beach; his stepsons, Ward Burton (Tabitha) and Brian Burton (Judith) of South Boston; his grandchildren, Sarah Graper (Gordy), Jeb Burton (Amanda), Ashton Burton, Alexander Burton, Paige Burton-Curtis (Pete), Harrison Burton (Jenna), Kelsie, Kolby and Tanner Striklin; his great grandchildren, Caroline, Clara Graper, Elyse and Easton Oslosky; Cheryl Bowman and Rhonda Reaves.
