She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Wilson Landrum Sr. and Virginia Henderson Landrum. She is survived by: her husband Dean Powell; her daughter Sherry W. Carver (Steve) of Roxboro; her stepchildren, Bobby D. Powell of Charlottesville and Vickie Crenshaw (John) of Farmville; her siblings, Jesse Wilson "J. W." Landrum, Jr. (Brenda) of South Boston and Ann Meadows (Gene) of South Boston; her grandchildren, Justin Carter (Mykie), Jonathan Carver (Petra) and Jalen Carver; her stepgrandchildren, Jonathan, Ethan, Casey J., James, Sandy, John, Stephanie, Kimberly and Casey; and her niece Jessica Landrum of South Boston. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren.
