It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kenneth Eugene Irby of South Boston, Virginia, born in Halifax, Virginia, who passed away on April 13, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, James Clarence Irby and Elizabeth Irby; his wife Nancy Nichols Irby; his siblings, Frances Roller, Carroll Irby, Linwood Irby, Ray Irby, Milton Irby and John Wayne Irby; and his grandson Glen Landrum.

He is survived by : his son Kenneth D. Irby (Shirley); his grandchildren, Nicole Irby of Halifax, Edward Irby of South Boston and Watkins Irby; and his great grandchildren, Eli Aaron Irby Fisher of Halifax, Kerrigan Reece Fisher of Halifax and Marley Jean Fisher of Halifax. He is also survived by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Powell Funeral Home (1603 Wilborn Ave, South Boston, VA 24592). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
