She was predeceased by: her husband Cecil Leroy Shell; her daughter Teresa Deacon; and her siblings, D. B. Hinkle, Bethel McDaniel and Louise Stepp.
She is survived by: her sons, Gordon Shell (Anna) of Wilsons, VA and Michael C. Shell (Sarah) of Summerville, SC; and her siblings, Eugene Hinkle of Kenbridge, David Hinkle of Boydton, Bernard Hinkle of Richmond, Roberta Evans of Kenbridge and Juanita Spence of La Crosse. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
