It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bobby Ray Martin of South Hill, Virginia, who passed away on October 15, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Janice W. Martin; his children, Jimmy Martin of South Hill, Cliff Martin of Honolulu, HI, Billy Martin of South Hill, Clark Martin of Bracey, Beth Callis of South Hill and Marie Hightower of South Hill; his siblings, Wilma Herring of Wake Forest and Irven Martin of Surf City, NC; his sister-in-law Colleen Martin; Cassandra Smith of South Hill, Randy Whitlow of Kenbridge, Joe Cappaert, Larry, Carol Stancel and Jerry Ezell.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the ALS Association, 8100 Three Chopt Road, Richmond, Va. 23229 or the Lake Country SPCA, 11764 Highway 15, Clarksville, Va. 23927.

“Bobby Ray was my close friend through my music on accordion/vocals. We met in the early 1980s. Bobby Ray would book me for his annual Christmas party in South Hill & also later when he moved to Warsaw, N.C. I had not seen Bobby Ray in 15 years until this year when I had the pleasure of entertaining Bobby Ray and Janice. It was a calling through our Lord this year to contact Bobby Ray and pay a visit to share my music once again. My condolences to Janice and Bobby Ray's entire family.”
