It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emmett Burton Matthews of South Hill, Virginia, who passed away on September 18, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his wife Norma Bishop Matthews of South Hill; his sons, Marc Matthews (Ann) of Lawrenceville and Clayton Levi Matthews (Hunter Payne) of Bracey; his grandchildren, Taylor Thomason (Brad), Payne Steed Matthews and Levi Hunter Matthews; and his great grandchildren, Tate Thomason and Kinsley Thomason.
