It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Thomas Evans of South Hill, Virginia, who passed away on July 20, 2025, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy John Thomas leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though John Thomas may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He is survived by: his wife Michelle B. Evans of South Hill; his children, Larry Powell of Richmond, Shon Evans (Shalonda) of South Hill, Charity Evans (Dale) of Prince George and Venus Haley Evans (Daniel) of Emporia; and his siblings, Shirley Fells of Kansas, Linda Steed of South Hill, Joy Jackson of New Jersey and Clarence Stone of Richmond. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Crowder-Hite-Crews Funeral Home and Crematory (1504 N Mecklenburg Ave, South Hill, VA 23970).
