She was predeceased by : her father Willie Columbus "Lum" Carter; her husband Raymond Ashburn; and her siblings, Lindsey Carter and Ruby Belcher. She is survived by : her daughter Renae Wagoner of Spencer; her nephew Jeffrey Carter (Antionette); her niece Jennifer Carter; and her great-nieces, Sydney Carter and McKinley Carter. She is also survived by her extended family and special friends.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to SPCA of Martinsville and Henry County, 132 Joseph Martin Highway, Martinsville, VA, 24112.
