She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel J. Reid, Sr. and Nancy Jane Reid (Price); her husband Elder Colonel D. Hairston; her son Victor O. Hairston; and her siblings, Marie Edwards, Dorothy Adams, Virginia Edwards, Christine Watkins, Philmore Reid, Richard Reid and Samuel J. Reid, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Nancy Yvonne Hairston of Spencer, Virginia and Danny Hairston (Jane) of Westerville, Ohio. She is also survived by five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
