Shirley leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Shirley’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Shirley will carry forward her memory in their hearts.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Christopher Earles and Alice Hopkins Earles; her husband Joseph Taylor; and her daughter Mary (Maggie). She is survived by: her children, Vickie Bowers (Howard) of Spencer, Tammy Cundiff (Mike) of Rocky Mount and Reuben Taylor (Pam) of Spencer; and her sister Lorene Clark of Stanleytown. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grand-children.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mayo Baptist Church (85 Penn Store Rd, Spencer, VA 24165). A graveside service was held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM.
