She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil Lee Atkins and Mary Lois Clark Atkins; her husband Lewis William Dodson; her granddaughter Sidney Dodson; and her brothers, James Lee Atkins and Virgil Jackson Atkins.
She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Jean Dodson McGhee (Kenneth), Gregory William Dodson (Tooie), Brian Lee Dodson (Amy) and Melissa Dawn Dodson; her grandchildren, Kayla McGhee, Shawn Dodson, Megan Dodson and Emily Wines; her siblings, Billy Snead Atkins (Peggy) and Betty Lou Walter; and her grand-pup Cody. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jean's name to the Sperryville Volunteer Rescue Squad, 12 Main St., Sperryville, VA 22740.
