It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy D. McGhee of Spotsylvania, Virginia, who passed away on January 13, 2022, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She is survived by: her daughter Susan Pleasants; and her nieces, Patricia McGhee, Barbara Sizemore and Tracy Dodson.

“I loved Dot. She was always so happy. I remember when she used to substitute she would write on the board, "Mcghee is the name and work is my game". I also remember she loved giving gum and candy to the children at church. One of my children had just gotten braces and I dared to tell Dot "NO". Dot would have none of that. Dot won and the child got the gum and I got scolded. She made this world a much happier place and left many with fond memories. Dot, have earned your wings.”
