She was predeceased by : her husband Heinz G. Nehlig. She is survived by : her daughters, Catherine A. McInteer and Victoria A. Nehlig; her grandchildren, Jillian M. Redlinger and Jonathan Bartchak; her sister Christa Sivack; and her son-in-law Ted S. McInteer.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10306.
