He was predeceased by: his parents, James Leonard Schaeffer, Sr. and Lillian Louise Burke Schaeffer; and his brother Mitchell Lee Schaeffer. He is survived by: his wife Cindy; his son Joseph Jr.; his granddaughter Mia (Ellie); his daughter Crystal; his foster daughter Lindsey; his grandson Dylon; his foster son Atilano; his siblings, James Jr., Carolyn, Teresia and Kenny; April and Simon. He is also survived by many brothers and sisters in law; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
