Bortz; his daughters, Susan Bortz and Connie Chewning; his niece Joan Roach (Ron Roach); his grandchildren, Michael Schmidt Jr. (Christina), Daniel Dinsmore Jr. (Paula), Leeann Hoe (David), Tony Chewning (Jennifer), Cristy O'Connor (Michael), Courtney Dunkle (Kyle) and Corey Jensen (Crystal); his great grandchildren, Amethyst, Michael, Rachel, Katelyn (Tyler), Kyle, Karter, Kolton, Kannon, Kashton, Logan, Dakota, Landon, Taylor, Bradley, Aden, Shane, Kallie of Emberlynn, CV, Kealeigh, Chase, Corbyn and Coralynn; and his great great grandchild Mazie.
