He was predeceased by: his parents, Mongo Dick Altman and Allene Swift Altman; his siblings, Faye Altman, Doris Kube, Phyllis Altman, Merritt, Ted, Tucker, Ward, Alfred "Zip", Cecil and Harold Altman; and his children-in-law, Faith Altman (Roy Jr.) and Garry Graves (Gina).
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Altman; his children, Roy W. Altman Jr., Ralph W. Altman (Tammy), Margaret Nettles (Daniel) and Gina Graves; and his siblings, Kay Frances Gentry (Walter), Ranny Altman (Debbie) and Reese Altman (Patricia). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church (15425 Days Bridge Rd, Mineral, VA 23117). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
