He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Dillard and Loula Dillard; his son Dwain Dillard; and his siblings, Emmitt Dillard, Hazel Eubank, Evelyn Embrey, Howard Dillard and Thelma Randall.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy "Dot" Dillard; his children, Larry Dillard (Karen), Teresa Carroll (Corky) and Susan Lockard; his grandchildren, Stephanie Cairns (Scott), Kara Cairns (Mark), Lauren Matthews (Marcus), Mikeal Lockard (Katelynn) and Lyndsay Lockard; his great grandchildren, Hunter Cairns, Lexy Cairns, Lyla Cairns, Leah Cairns, Olivia Matthews and Madelyn Matthews; and his sister Barbara Thomas. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Covenant Funeral Service - Fredericksburg (10830 Patriot Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22408). A burial will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery (11007 W Catharpin Rd, Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA 22551).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
