He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Edward and Vaughnie Alvena Smith; his son David Samuel Mccay; and his brothers, John Smith, Jake Smith and Vaughan Smith.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Darlene Smith; his son Charles Edward Mccay, Sr.; his grandson Charles Edward Mccay, Jr. (Madison); and his brother David Smith (Cindy). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family.
