It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gary D. Brodersen (Springfield, Virginia), who passed away on April 20, 2023, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Eugene Brodersen and Clover Brodersen; his wife Eleanor Brodersen (Patty); his brother Richard Brodersen (Francis); his aunt Uarda Lillian Smith (Peggy); and his siblings-in-law, Mary Harpstead, Evelyn Boyer, Shirley Grinde, Donald Sorbel, Tom Boyer, Ardon Grinde (Bud) and James Nielsen.

He is survived by : his aunt Peggy; his former life partner Jeanne Dahl; his children, Gregory Brodersen (Stephanie), Greta Steger (David), Brenda Fedorko (Daniel) and Brett Brodersen; his grandchildren, Scott Steger (Ashley), Jessica Brodersen, Bryan Steger, Nicholas Brodersen, Jeremy Brodersen, Matthew Fedorko and Megan Fedorko; and his siblings-in-law, Rodney Dahl (Cindy), Jim Dahl (Susan), Herbert Sorbel, Dale Harpstead and Dorothy Nielsen.

In 2016, Gary was diagnosed with Frontal Temporal Dementia (FTD) and saw rapid progression of the disease during the COVID pandemic period.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in memory of Gary Brodersen, supporting the Healing Ministry at Prince of Peace or the Insight Memory Care Center located in Fairfax VA.
