It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James William Powell Sr. of Springfield, Virginia, born in Onancock, Virginia, who passed away on September 2, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his wife Elaine Nader Powell. He is survived by : his children, Ruthann P. Coleman, James W. Powell Jr. and Gregory D. Powell (Nancy); his grandchildren, Ryan, Tori Powell and James Kurth; and his brother John R. Powell (Dorothy).

As Elaine was a kidney transplant recipient the family asks that in lieu of anything else a donation may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Jim's honor.
