With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Janis Luke Koike in Springfield, Virginia, born in Los Angeles, California, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 5, 2026 at the age of 82. She was predeceased by: her spouse Dr. Masuo John "Matt" Koike; her parents, Yudell Luke and Laverne Luke; and her sisters, Molly Kaufman and Linda Gurin.
She is survived by: her children, Sara Abiusi (Derek) of Arlington and Michael Koike (Rebecca) of Scarsdale, N. Y.; her grandchildren, Alexandra, Adam, Caroline, Lauren and Zoe; and her sister Debra Singer (Mark) of Olathe, Kan..
In lieu of the flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
