He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Norman Goodale and Bernice Goodale; and his children, Richard Jr. (Cynthia), Gary Michael (Terry), Kevin (Lisa) and Katrienne (Kevin). He was also cherished by his four children, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia.
