We are sad to announce that on July 11, 2025, at the age of 100, Ruth Eleanor Bury of Springfield, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Ruth Eleanor may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Carmine A. Ingagliato of Cilento and Candita Gamboni of Canton, Ohio.; and her children, Kathleen Bury of Alexandria, Stephen Bury (late Jane) of Springfield, James Bury (Debby) of Jacksonville and Mary Anne Fisher of Tucson, Arizona.. She was also cherished by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jefferson Funeral Chapel (5755 Castlewellan Dr, Alexandria, VA 22315-5516). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Saint Raymond of Penafort Catholic Church (8750 Pohick Rd, Springfield, VA 22153). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 23rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:15 PM at the Cedar Hill Cemetery (4111 Pennsylvania Ave., Hillcrest Heights, MD 20746).
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Greenspring Village Scholars Fund which provides postsecondary scholarships to students who work at Greenspring Senior Living Community, where Ruth was a resident for the last 26 years and a dedicated member of the philanthropy club.
