He was predeceased by : his wife Patricia R. Simms; and his son William A. "Rusty" Simms Jr.. He is survived by : his daughter Sharon Simms Essex (Gary); his granddaughters, Julie Ryan Meyer and Stacie Elizabeth Mikels (Ross); his great grandchildren, Ryan Patrick Meyer, Andon Bailey Mikels and Noelle Grace Mikels; and his siblings, David L. Simms and Barbara Jewell.
