She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Nguyen Văn Ninh and Đao Thi Giau; her child Yen; and her siblings, Quoc, Hoan, Quynh, Giao, Khanh and Hanh. She was also cherished by children and grandchildren.
Being poor and sick herself, Yen continued to send donations to Saint Jude Hospital - to help children with cancer.
