He was predeceased by: his daughter Angel Lynn DeShazo; his wife Denise Newton DeShazo; his parents, James Lewis, Sr. and Louise Thompson DeShazo; his grandparents, James Carthy, Edna Quann Thompson, James Clem and Rebecca Howard DeShazo; and his brother Dennis DeShazo.
He is survived by: his son James L. "Jamie" DeShazo III (Amber); his grandchild Avery; his daughter Michelle Runion; his grandson Ethan; his daughter Kimberly DeShazo; his siblings, Kenny DeShazo (Karen), Bruce DeShazo (Joanie), Cathy Herndon (Craig) and Lisa Gallaway; and his pets, Callie, Punk, Trouble, Wink and Yellow Bird. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
