It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Snell of Stafford, Virginia, who passed away on January 23, 2026, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. As James departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, William Snell and Catherine Snell (Cohen); his sister Leola Banks; and his daughter Candace Michele Garay. He is survived by: his wife Donna Gene Snell of Stafford, VA; his children, Jaclyn Patrice Terry of Stafford, VA, Tifannie Snell of Chicago, IL, Jamie M. Snell-Harris (Raymond) of Chicago, IL and James G. Snell Jr. (Jessica) of Dugan Farms, OH; and his siblings, Geneva Snell, Willie Edward Snell (Jennifer) of Chicago, IL and Tommy Snell of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many extended family, members and friends.
