He was predeceased by: his parents, Antonio Alvarez and Ernestina Alvarez; and his sisters, Maria of Rosario Reynoso and Anna Prescott. He is survived by: his wife Irma Mireya Lamas (Alvarez); his children, Rolando Antonio Alvarez and Mireya Rebecca Alvarez; and his siblings, Javier Alvarez, Alma Trevino, Belia Corbett, Alva Thompson, Adela Alonzo and Nora Ramirez.
