It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steven Anderson Helms Jr. of Stafford, Virginia, born in Greensboro, North Carolina, who passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Steven Anderson "Andy" Helms and Lola Woolard; and his brother Brian Helms of Newport. He is survived by: his former wife Elva Haley; his children, Sharon Johnston of Williamsburg and Steven Anderson "Steve" Helms III (Rhonda); his granddaughters, Amy of Stafford County and Sarah Helms of Stafford County; and his wife Joy Helms.

To honor Sandy's loving spirit, the family suggests any contributions be made to the Rappahannock United Way, Mary Washington Hospice, or a church or charity of your choice.
