He is survived by: his wife Elda; his children, Stuart Edward Payne III and Elizabeth Christy Baker (Kirk Jewell); his grandchildren, Shelby Noel Scarbro (Philip), Michael Lee Baker III (Shirley Locklear) and Falon Bella Bleu Baker (Tyler Johns); his great grandchildren, Magnolia Raelyn Scarbro, Jayden Noah Locklear and Michael Lee Baker IV; and his siblings, Larry Payne (Shelia Payne), Samual Payne, Kathy Van Buren (Brent Van Buren) and Sharon Watson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
