He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Briggs and Dorothy Briggs; and his son William. He is survived by: his daughters, Kathleen McDowell of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Cynthia Byers of Fairfax, Virginia and Caitlin Briggs of Chattanooga, Tennessee; and his siblings, Dennis Briggs of Woodbridge, VA, Sue Briggs of Columbia, MD and Pat Dumroese of Towson, MD. He is also survived by three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
