Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Katherine Lawson of Stanardsville, Virginia, who passed away at the age of 54, on February 18, 2026. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roger Ebert and Brenda Perkins; her uncle Bill Himes; and her pet Lucy. She is survived by: her husband Dennis Lawson; her aunts, Laura Herring and Margaret Himes; her uncle Larry Herring; and her close friends, Rebecca Pratt, Cindy Purvis, Debbie Espisito and Darlene Verrell. She is also survived by 32 nieces and nephews; and numerous loving cousins, extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial donations be made in Lori's name to support research in a cure for MELAS Syndrome (Mitochondrial Encephalomyopathy, Lactic Acidosis, and Stroke-like Episodes). Donations can be made to UMDF (https://give.umdf.org).
