She was predeceased by: her parents, Gene Jerry Strother, Sr. and Betty Ann Strother; her grandparents, Alfred, Lottie Strother and Ada Graves Bright; and her aunts and uncles, Alice Carpenter, Geraldine Johnson, Maxwell Strother, Terry Tyler and Thomas Walls.
She is survived by: her son Chance Lamar Johnson; her brother Gene Jerry Strother, Jr. (Danielle) of Madison, VA.; her sibling's children, Teresa, Breanna Strother and Justin Warren of Ruckersville, VA.; her aunts, Patsy Walls, Martha Tyler, Hope Strother, Shirley Strother of Charlottesville, VA., Gloria Bright and Sharon Bright of Stanardsville, VA.; and her uncle Wilson Bright (Elliott Johnson) of Stanardsville, VA.. She is also survived by cousins and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Shiloh Baptist Church (71 Shiloh Rd, Stanardsville, VA 22973).
