He is survived by: his wife Miriam Wood Howe; his children, Kathleen Elizabeth Howe (Adam Schroeder) of Charlottesville, Virginia and Christian Patrick Howe (Elizabeth) of Gordonsville, Virginia; his granddaughters, Lila Catharine Howe and Semara Rose Thomas; his siblings, R. Michael Howe of Silver Spring, Richard W. Howe of Fairfax, Virginia and Kathleen P. Howe Handiboe (John) of Middletown, Maryland; his siblings' children, Theresa Gromadzki of Houston, Jennifer Howe Watson of Locust Grove, Katy Torres of California, Wendy G. Cummings of Ruckersville, Virginia, Julia L. Breeden of Ruckersville, Virginia, Lawrence Thompson of Ruckersville, Samuel Wood of Ruckersville, Alexander of Elkton, Virginia, Kyle of Elkton, Virginia and Ryan DeMastus of Elkton, Virginia; his father-in-law William W. Wood of Ruckersville, Virginia; and his siblings-in-law, Dinah F. Wood (Amy) of Ruckersville, Virginia, Teresa Martin (Bobby) of Ruckersville, Virginia and Mark E. DeMastus (Teresa) of Elkton, Virginia. He is also survived by many special friends and other family members.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Batten Funeral Home (12819 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, VA 22968).
