He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alfres Alther and Neva Clara Alther (Wharton); and his brothers, Winston Alther, William "Joe" Alther and Wade Alther.
He is survived by: his daughter Nikkie Lynn Alther Hoke of Stanley; and his grandchildren, Jacob, Mason, Jagger, Jaxon, Charleigh and Memphis.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 16th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Riverview Independent Gospel Church (259 Wampler Dr, Stanley, VA 22851).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help offset funeral expenses.
