He was predeceased by: his parents, John Jefferon Via and Virginia Mae Jefferson Via; his former wife Priscilla Warren Via; his brother Gene Via; and his nephews, Jeff Via and Greg Via.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Carroll Via; his niece Kelli Woolard (Jimmy); his son Aubrey Compton II (Michelle); his stepchildren, Kim Robertson (Dwayne) and Terry Carroll (Laura); his stepgrandchildren, Taylor Vecchia, Gage Carroll, Tori Greer and Blake Carroll; and his grandsons, Caleb and Ian Compton.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Fort Trial Baptist Church (170 Oak Level Rd, Stanleytown, VA 24168). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fort Trial Baptist Church in Stanleytown.
