He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Glenn Wood and Emily Hiatt Wood; his wife Mary Lou Pilson Wood; and his nephew Corporal Jonathan Bowling. He is survived by: his sons, Bridger Wood (Maggie) and Brandon Wood (Emily); his brother Kent Wood (Debbie); and his grandchildren, Hailey (Kenneth), Brittany (Cameron), Taylor, Paisley, John Lucas, Henry, Mitchell and Emma. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Fort Trial Baptist Church in Stanleytown or to Mountain Valley Hospice, in Vern's honor.
