She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Kenneth VanFossen and Janie Marie VanFossen (Jordan); and her sisters, Barbara Foxx (Junior) and Gloria Jean VanFossen. She is survived by: her husband Fred Allen Smiley of Staunton; her sons, Daniel A. Smiley (Kelly) of Staunton and David W. Smiley (Billie Jo) of Staunton; her sister Nancy Thomas (Lane) of Stuarts Draft; her siblings-in-law, Jim Smiley, Mae Carpenter and Salina Smiley; her grandchildren, Austin Smiley (Taylor), Cole Smiley (Logan), Shelby Cogar (Davis), Zac Smiley and Noah Smiley (Rhea Bendel); and her great grandchildren, Beau Smiley, Graham Smiley, Brooks Cogar and Kayce Cogar.
